DESCRIPTION OF TECHNOLOGY
This technology provides computation of central blood pressure (BP) using a standard automatic arm cuff device, as opposed to specialized cuffs. This method involves measuring cuff pressure during inflation or deflation, extracting specific features from the resulting waveform, and then computing central BP values through either machine learning algorithms or physiologic modeling. The process can also involve estimating brachial BP magnitude and scaling a pulse volume plethysmography (PVP) waveform to derive a central BP waveform. This innovative approach not only simplifies the monitoring process but also enhances the accuracy and reliability of BP readings, thereby contributing to more effective patient care and health management.
